Marine

Marine was the first in the Takara-bako "Boasting about my girl" series (hopefully the series will continue in the future). Orders were taken exclusively through Internet and it was possible to choose the skintone, hairstyle, hair color and eye color. The price was 5000 yen each.

Left : This Thanks Fair 4 Marine was not included in the after-service catalog. She was available only to people who went to the Thanks Fair in person. Right : Castle Marine!

Shinano-san, a well-known artist who won awards in Barbie Bazaar, customized this Hajimemashite Marine and gave her very striking teal eyes.

This customized doll was made by Kaori from Left Thimble and Kyon. Her name is "Eau de ciel" and the base is a School Girl Marine. Her hair was rerooted in a silver blond hue and her extraordinary outfit was handmade by Kaori. It includes a high-waisted dress with full skirt, a petticoat with such beautiful embroidery it's a shame you can't see it, a shawl and wings made with real feathers. She's a limited edition of 8 pieces. A close-up of "Eau de ciel". Her lips were repainted by Kyon.

his Castle original Marine has beautiful coloring and ash blond saran hair. She was one of the Castle originals made especially for Jenny Club S members who participated in the Castle Painting Tour on August 28, 1999. There were only about 6 or 7 dolls of this doll and she sold out instantly during the Jenny Club S sale held in a reserved room of the 2nd floor of the Castle.

This version of Marine is a 1995 (?) Jenny Shop replica and, among all the existing re-editions, is said to be the one closest to the first release (which sold at an auction and at a toy show in 1998, both times for 100000 yen). She's wearing a beautiful bridge dress made by Karen; her jewelry comes from Totoco.

Here's the 1994 Jenny Shop original Cheko Marine. She was limited to 150 pieces and is now VHTF. Here she is redressed but her original outfit consisted of an "ethnic" costume supposed to represent Czechoslovakia.

This blonde Cheko-Marine was purchased in 1997 at Takara's Japanese on-line shopping web site (sales are limited to Japan). Marine, like Ellie, was a member of the 1st generation "Jenny's club" issued in 1986. In 1987 a version called "beauty cut Marine" was released, with a straight hair wig and a "sauvage" cut wig. In 1995 there was a poll to determine who would be the Jenny friends reissued to commemorate Jenny's 10th anniversary, and Marine came out first. Her face is based on the "Excelina Jenny" mold. Marine is from London and is 17 years old (blood type: O, sign of the Zodiac: Virgo, born September 14th). She's a quiet girl with aristocratic origins, and her hobby is horse-riding.

This is one of the Licca-chan Castle original dolls with SA body commercialized by Noix de Rome and Kiddyland. The name of this one is not indicated on the box, but she has the Jenny/Marine head. Since her eyes are blue that would indicate that she's a Marine and maybe a Cheko Marine (her eyes are very similar to those of the blond Cheko-Marine above, only they are of a slightly lighter blue).

I was told that the following doll is a Hajememashite(I don't know if that is spelled correctly) Marine.

Kimono Marine.
