FIRST GENERATION LICCA

......

This doll is a Takara-bako exclusive from December 2001, using the first generation replica head mold. She's wearing a school uniform.

......

This doll is a first generation Licca. She is marked on her back "Made in Japan". She is wearing a 1st generation outfit, "Port wine".

......

Another first generation Licca. Her outfit actually belongs to Izumi's little sister Kurumi, and her shoes are replaced. It's difficult to explain why, but the original looks much sweeter than the replica. Also, since Takara doesn't have the original mold anymore and had to take an imprint of an authentic 1st generation doll to make a new mold for the replica, the latter is noticeably smaller.

This first generation Licca replica was released in late 1999 as part of the Licca-chan trio replica (with Izumi and Wataru). They are all wearing matching outfits, replicas of original 1st generation outfits, which are called "Tiger Look". The 3 dolls came with a CD ROM containing old Licca TV commercials. There was also a cheaper TRU exclusive version, with another outfit, and without the CD ROM.

Licca is 11 years old. She has a Japanese mother, Orie, who's a fashion designer, and a French father, Pierre, who's an orchestra conductor. She had at one time an elder sister, Rie, a stewardess, who has since disappeared from the scene. Her other siblings are 4-year-old twins Maki and Miki, and baby triplets, Kako, Miku and Gen. What a family! This is a replica of the first generation Licca (which appeared on the scene in 1967 ; height 19.5 cm), issued in 1992 in celebration of her 25th anniversary. What an outfit! When this doll appeared on the market in 1967 she was an instant success with little girls, who felt closer to her than to more adult-type dolls such as Barbie.
