Anne of Green Gables

......

This Anne of Green Gables doll's body is the same as Licca's.

Hitomi

......

This doll is also from Takara and her name is Hitomi. She's about 30 cm high (one foot) and her legs don't bend. She was released in 1990 and is supposed to represent a university student.

Ranze

......

Ranze in a Jenny Shop original outfit.

......

Ranze dates from 1982 and is a character from something called "Tokimeki Tonight" which is probably an anime. She has the same head mold and body as the first Takara Barbie and has been dubbed "the black-haired Barbie". Her hair is actually dark brown and she has large blue anime eyes. This doll is now rare and very pricy.A MIB doll can sell for 100000 yen at a toy show. Here she's wearing an outfit that is tagged "Takara".

Little beauty from Infant island

......

This doll is a 1999 Takara-bako original, the first in a series called "Heroines from fantasy-land". She came as one in a pair called "Little beauties of Infant island". Apparently this refers to an episode in the Gozilla series. There was a monster called Mothra on Infant island, guarding its inhabitants, and whenever danger approached the little beauties, twins, sang to wake up the monster. This doll was made with the Kisara mold and she looks very serious, almost sad.

Pico

......

Pico was a small fashion doll released by Takara in 1974. Early Pico dolls had blond hair like this one. When you raise her left arm she shakes her head from left to right (it makes an awful noise though). She is about the same size as Dawn and Pippa, but she has a larger head with rounder cheeks and bigger eyes.

......

This is a later Pico with light brown hair. Pico dolls have click legs which click once. Like a lot of Dawn dolls, this Pico has some symptoms of the "green knee" disease.

............

Clara is one of Pico's friends (the other one is called Aki). She is the same size as Pico but doesn't turn her head when her arm is raised. The sticker on the box says "a little love...ROMAN DOLL". The picture on the sticker reminds me of the Hollie Hobby drawings which I loved as a child.

............

More Pico outfits. In style, they are quite reminiscent of 2nd generation Licca outfits.

......Here's a scan of the back of the box. It says "Raise her hand and she'll go yeye".

When standing next to Marie, Pico looks very childish. Unlike Pippa and friends, her eyelashes are not rooted but painted.

Bandai Anna

The doll made by the Bandai company who once partnered with Mattel to make MABA Barbie. This is their little 8 inch doll called Anna. She is also called Charmy Twin Anna, but I have yet to find her twin.

Bandai Anna, Charmy Twin

Anna does have a Mother though.

This is Anna's mom, Emiko.
